There is another sky -Emily Dickinson

There is another sky,
Ever serene and fair,
And there is another sunshine,
Though it be darkness there;
Never mind faded forests, Austin,
Never mind silent fields -
Here is a little forest,
Whose leaf is ever green;
Here is a brighter garden,
Where not a frost has been;
In its unfading flowers
I hear the bright bee hum:
Prithee, my brother,
Into my garden come!

Analysis:

I chose this poem because the imagery really struck me and I felt this sensation of hope and beauty. When I read this poem for the first time, I thought of the Promised Land that God promised the Israelites. God promised a land flowing with milk and honey to the Israelites. His only command was to follow Him and trust that He would take them to the Promised Land. “There is another sky, Ever serene and fair, And there is another sunshine, Though it be darkness there; …Prithee, my brother, Into my garden come!” This evoked a certain feeling of security and protection, like God had and has been watching over me through the whole course of my life.
